Navamsa Chart Calculator (D9)
The **Navamsa (D9)** is the single most consulted divisional chart in Vedic astrology, second only to the main D1 birth chart. It divides each zodiac sign into nine equal parts of 3°20′ and is used to judge marriage and partnership prospects, and — just as importantly — to confirm whether a planet’s apparent strength in your D1 chart holds up once examined more closely.

Why Navamsa Is Called the "Marriage Chart"
Classical texts assign the Navamsa primary authority over marriage, spouse, and dharma (one’s life purpose) — a strong 7th house or 7th lord in the D9 is traditionally read as more decisive for marital happiness than the same placement in the D1 alone. Many astrologers won’t give a firm opinion on marriage timing or compatibility without checking the D9 first.
The Second Use: Confirming Planetary Strength
A planet exalted in your D1 chart that lands in its debilitation sign in the D9 is traditionally read as a weaker exaltation than one that holds its dignity in both charts — this cross-check (called "vargottama" when a planet lands in the exact same sign in both D1 and D9, its strongest possible confirmation) is one of the most important strength assessments in classical Jyotisha.
